SportsCan is now accepting registrations into our Volleyball Canada Centre of Excellence (VCCE) of Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. The Volleyball Canada Centre of Excellence (VCCE) is specifically designed to prepare high performance volleyball athletes to take their game to the next level. The Volleyball Canada Centre of Excellence (VCCE) is an exciting new initiative developed through partnerships including the Provincial Associations, CIS and CCAA programs, Own the Podium, and industry leaders, such as Sportscan.

VCCE – Ottawa Guiding Principles:

VCCE Coaching experience is intended to augment the annual training plan for athlete s current team and training

– Coaches within the VCCE program provide advanced knowledge in one or more aspects of athlete development
– Priority focus is on advancing individual athlete bio-mechanics, skill mechanics and positional game cycle training
– VCCE athletes are encouraged to mix current team training information with VCCE training methods and expectations
– The goal of the VCCE training system is to support and advance the rate of development of an athlete without overload or over-training in any given period of the annual training calendar

VCCE Provides an opportunity for each athlete to take their skills to the next level

– Partnership and Support from Ottawa top volleyball institutional programs Ottawa and Algonquin
– Expert top level coaches providing a supportive, collaborative approach with athletes club, school, parents, etc.
– Foundational & advanced teaching & training through focused, individualized volume for long term success in volleyball
– Expertly directed volume of skills, movement patterns and game cycles designed to enhance an athlete current training environment
The benefit of the VCCE is that it works in collaboration with you and your club/ high school coach. The focus is on individual technical and athletic development. The sessions work on a medium to high volume and moderate to low intensity. You are constantly monitored to ensure over training is not an issue and peak performance for competitions is ensured. The key to the program’s success is that constant communication with you and your club/ high school coach. This communication ensures that all programs are working together to help you reach your full potential in the immediate future and the long term future.

Some of our successful athletes that are in our program or graduated are Youth National Team athletes Alina Dorman and Emie Gaboury. Alina played for Canada’s Senior Women’s Team this past summer. Alina was heavily recruited by US and Canadian Universities and is playing for perennial powerhouse University of Toronto and this years CIS Champions. To add to the great year for Alina she was CIS Rookie of the year!

Former athlete, Kevin Lebreux and present athlete Alexandre Nsakanda represented Canada on the Youth Men’s National Team this summer, winning a silver medal at the USA International Tournament.

We are half way through the competitive club season. Athlete’s still have time to hone their skills in preparation for Team Ontario Evaluations and Provincial/ National Championships!
